PHU QUOC CONSERVATION MOORINGS UPDATE/ NEO BẢO TỒN CHO TÀU TẠI PHÚ QUỐC
Before the Lunar New Year break, our team at OnBird – Soft-Adventure Journeys has completed the early stage of our mission to contribute conservation moorings for parts of Phu Quoc Island which can help:
- Reduce the amount of contact between the mooring components and the seafloor (especially coral reef areas)
- Plants & corals, and other creatures to flourish
- Raise awareness for other boat operators and also provide them with an anchorage when in need instead of mistaken anchorages
Conservation moorings use a buoyant bungee-like cord or floating, flexible rods connected with a hunk of reinforced concrete that will be coralized after 10-20 years.
