Additionally, a multitude of small fish surfaced, providing food for his troops. This type of fish came to be known as anchovies. Lord Nguyen stayed on the island, which served as his refuge, and eventually defeated the insurgents. Today, a monument stands near the well, commemorating the sword’s imprint and the exact location of the king\u2019s throne. Fresh water and anchovies have since become symbols of good fortune, alongside Phu Quoc’s long-standing specialties: pearls and pepper.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
