font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\">distributed across various sections of the Coral Jungle Reef, and<\/span>\u00a0defined by red marker lines underwater. Within this area, our team and marine biologists have installed coral bases and begun transplanting fragments nurtured in both the\u00a0<b>Northern and Southern coral nurseries<\/b>\u00a0\u2014 colonies that have been\u00a0<b>grown and monitored for more than six months.<\/b><\/p>\n<div id=\"gallery-2\" class=\"gallery galleryid-60766 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-full\">\n<figure species<\/b>\u00a0have been successfully prepared and transplanted \u2014\u00a0<b>two more than initially planned<\/b>\u00a0\u2014 building a strong foundation for biodiversity recovery:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Acropora Pulchra (Staghorn coral)<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 recognizable by its\u00a0<b>branching structure<\/b>,\u00a0<b>capable of growing up to 30 cm per year.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Acropora Rosaria (Cherry Blossom coral)<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 noted for its\u00a0<b>turquoise color<\/b>\u00a0and steady\u00a0<b>growth of around 20 cm per year.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Acropora Cytherea (Table coral) \u2013\u00a0<\/b>This coral species forms\u00a0<strong>large table-like plates at depths of 3\u201325 meters<\/strong>, developing\u00a0<strong>thicker and more robust structures in high-energy reef environments.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"a_GcMg font-feature-liga-off font-feature-clig-off font-feature-calt-off text-decoration-underline text-strikethrough-none\"><strong>Porites Cylindrina (Finger coral)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This\u00a0<strong>resilient species survived the 2024 bleaching at Coral Jungle Reef<\/strong>, and OnBird later found a few small colonies\u2014slightly affected at the base\u2014which were carefully collected, fragmented, and transplanted onto new natural substrates for restoration.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pocillopora Damicornis (Cauliflower coral)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Once\u00a0<strong>wiped out entirely after the 2024 bleaching event<\/strong>\u00a0at Coral Jungle Reef, this\u00a0<strong>highly adaptable species<\/strong>\u00a0has now become a strong candidate selected by OnBird for reef restoration efforts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the\u00a0five primary species\u00a0listed above, three other coral species have also been successfully cultivated and are being prepared for the next transplantation phase, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Acropora Hyacinthus<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Acropora Millepora<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Acropora Gemmifera<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"gallery-3\" Control:<\/b><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>After transplantation, young coral fragments \u2014 much like patients recovering from surgery \u2014 remain\u00a0<strong>fragile and vulnerable<\/strong>\u00a0to external threats.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main dangers comes from\u00a0<b>Drupella cornus<\/b>, a coral-eating snail found across Indo-Pacific reefs.
