Maintaining the quality of equipment on the boats docked at the harbor presents a challenge, primarily stemming from inadequate resources allocated for thorough cleaning and maintenance. Factors such as high humidity, limited hygienic storage facilities, and saltwater exposure are significant concerns. To streamline operations, a feasible solution could involve storing the equipment on the speedboat instead of transporting it back to the office after each trip but OnBird does not do this.
How can OnBird ensure that our equipment is thoroughly sanitized and cleaned before each snorkeling expedition?
- Immerse the diving mask and snorkel equipment in a potent soapy solution overnight for approximately 3 to 8 hours.
- Submerge the equipment in fresh water for 30 minutes to rinse off the soap residue.
- Place the snorkel in hot fresh water for an additional 2 minutes.
- Thoroughly clean the snorkel mouthpiece using a high-pressure water faucet.
- Rinse the snorkel once more in freshwater for 2 minutes.
- Hang the equipment in the sunlight to dry.
- Gather the dried snorkels from the previous day, arrange them in a box for guests, and hand them over to the responsible guides.
